The Simplimet 2000 Automatic Mounting Press utilizes a hydraulic pressure system to generate the forces needed for mounting. In addition, an easy to use, robust bayonet-style closure system eliminates potential incorrect moulding closings. The mounting press also provides the operator with override control of all operating parameters, including curing temperature and pressure, heating and cooling times, and preload pressure.

The Simplimet 2000 may be used to mount a wide range of specimens into many compression moulding resins e.g. Phenolics, Epomet, Transoptic and other suitable thermosetting and thermoplastic resins, in a single or duplex configuration without changing the moulding cylinder.
