The Instron 8561 is a legacy dynamic and fatigue testing machine manufactured from 1987 to 1990. It is primarily designed for high-precision, low-cycle fatigue (LCF), tensile testing and fracture toughness evaluations of metals and hard materials in addition to general tensile testing.

The machine is equipped with a video extensometer for precise non-contact measurement of strain.
