Discotom-2 cut-off machine is designed for rapid cutting of metallographic, mineralogical, and ceramic specimens. The cutting operation is performed with a rotating cut-off wheel (Al2O3, SiC or diamond), the cut and wheel being cooled with a recirculation cooling liquid to prevent changes of the microstructure of the specimens because of the heat generated by the cutting.
